Job Skills/Training

Training For Sustainability

What is Job Skills Training?

Job skills training equips individuals with the practical abilities and knowledge needed to succeed in the workplace.

This type of training focuses on developing both technical skills specific to a career field and soft skills that are essential for workplace success, such as communication, problem-solving, and teamwork. Job skills training programs are often tailored to help those transitioning into new careers, re-entering the workforce, or seeking to improve their employability.

Who Benefits from Job Skills Training?

The L.I.F.T Jobs Training Skills program equips individuals with the tools they need to secure stable employment and build a sustainable future. By offering targeted training in in-demand industries, personalized career coaching, and hands-on experience, participants gain the skills and confidence to thrive in the workforce. The program also focuses on essential soft skills, such as communication, time management, and teamwork, ensuring that individuals are well-prepared for both entry-level positions and long-term career growth. Our goal is to empower participants to achieve financial independence and break the cycle of homelessness.

What Does Job Skills Training Include?

Job skills training programs can vary depending on the industry and individual needs, but they generally cover the following areas:

  • Technical Skills: These are the specific skills required for a particular job or industry, such as computer programming, carpentry, healthcare certifications, or manufacturing processes.
  • Soft Skills: These include communication, teamwork, problem-solving, time management, and professionalism—critical skills that employers look for in any field. Job Search Assistance: Many programs offer help with writing resumes, preparing for interviews, and understanding the job application process.
  • Workplace Readiness: Teaching participants how to adapt to workplace cultures, follow procedures, and maintain professionalism.
  • Internships and On-the-Job Training: Some programs provide hands-on experience through paid jobs, apprenticeships or internships, allowing participants to apply their skills in real-world settings.
